Michael (that is not his real name) contacted me by IM through match. After IMing from match, he asked me to switch to yahoo IM. I did not see any reason for concern at the time. After a very short period of time, he professed his love for me and how I was the only one for him. Unfortunately, I suspended reality and tried to believe he was sincere. I am embarrassed to say that I ultimately sent him two iPhones and a pair of shoes. Stupidity, I know. After that he asked me for money. That is when the fog really lifted. While I did not find him on your site, I found someone else who IMed me the same day. I never did send him any money. The reason I am sure he is a scammer (beside the above) is because he sent me his home address. When I checked it out on the Tax Collector''s website, the front of the house did not match the picture of the back of the house he sent me. Also, I had previously asked what was his middle name and it did not match the name of the owner and finally, I ran another report wherein the birthdate he gave me did not match this person. Again, I do not think this is his real name or real address.

Michael Roberts first contacted me on Match.com on September 23 via the website's chat function. He quickly asked me to establish a yahoo messenger account so that we could communicate more easily. We chatted, texted and emailed frequently and his expressions of love quickly became very passionate and serious. On October 3 he said that he would have to leave for Ghana to look at some land in order to build luxury apartments as an investment. On October 5, he requested that I send him an iPhone 5 and a pair of boots to his hotel in Ghana (value $775) so that he could use them to survey the land. He said he couldn't purchase the phone or boots in Ghana. He then requested $500 to pay customs duties to get the package through customs on October 11. He then requested an additional $400 to cover his living expenses on October 14. He then requested an additional $5200 on October 18. At this point, I refused his requests for money. The amount sent to him (including the value of the cell phone and boots) totaled $1530.45.
