Roland Weiss initiated correspondence with me on the dating site, OurTime. His code name on OurTime was MandeRon06. Roland said he was an engineer from Mandeville LA. HIs phone number which I later researched and found that it is a non-fixed VOIP phone which can be operated from overseas. I later searched Roland's name on White Pages and came up with nothing. He had a German accent and said he grew up in Frankfurt, Germany. We were to meet that following Sat eve but he said he had to go to a engineer's seminar in Kingston, Ontario. He called me. When I later researched this phone number, it was a landline phone in a house on Grace Ave in Kingston. Roland very quickly professed his love for me & since I have been a widow for over 10 years, he told me everything I wanted to hear.
From Kingston Ontario he went to the UK where he said he was putting in a bid for a construction project. From there he went to Accra Ghana where he was to supervise the construction of a shopping mall in Accra. The first night he is in Accra he ruins his laptop and phone, so he convinced me to ship him a new MAC laptop and Apple watch. That was about $2000. Roland was staying at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra which I later called and they had no record of him staying there. Roland also said he made friends with the hotel manager, Isaac Akoto. The hotel said no one worked there by that name. Roland asked me to start communicating with him on WhatsApp Messenger and that's how we continued to communicate until 6/23/16.
On 6/2/16 Roland said that the workers on the construction site had dug up raw gold and they took it to the Chief of Accra. Roland said he was buying the gold and bringing it back to the US, but he was $4,000 short so he asked me if I could find prepaid cards to mail to him. On 6/6/16 I mailed him $4,000 in Net Spend prepaid cards. Of course he always assured me he would pay me back when he came home to LA on 6/10/16. On 6/10/16 when he was to fly home, I received a call from 233-560291437 which was supposedly a man from Customs in Accra airport who said they were holding Roland because he was trying to leave the country without the proper paperwork for the gold he was bringing home. On morning of 6/10 Roland had asked me to wire $800 to Mathias Hogah via Western Union to pay the workers on the jobsite. Roland told me that he needed $10,000 to bring gold back to the US, so he asked me to wire $2,000 to Mathias Hogah via Western Union on 6/11/16. On the eve of 6/13/16 Roland asked me to mail him $8,000 cash in an envelope via Fed Ex. Roland received the envelope on 6/20/16. The envelopes that I sent him were addressed to Roland Weiss, Golden Tulip Hotel, 289 Valley St, Roman Ridge, Accra, Ghana. But I don't think Fed Ex ever went to the hotel to deliver packages. Roland went to Fed Ex with his accomplis to pick up the packages. On 6/16/16 Roland asked me to do a bank transfer to Isaac Akoto for $800. On 6/20/16 Roland emailed me his flight itinerary to come home to US, but he called me that evening, and said Customs required insurance on the gold and that he needed $15,000. I told him that I had emptied my savings and checking accounts and could not help him anymore. On 6/23/16 I called the Golden Tulip hotel and found out he had never stayed there. I told him to not contact me anymore.
Roland had said the company that hired him in the UK was Gabulous Agency --which I couldn't find even existed. When I did a search of his email address, the IP address is 98.138.253.109 and the server was not in LA, it was in Sunnyvale Calif in the San Francisco Bay. So in a 2 week period, Roland had scammed $19,000 from me. My daughter had did Google search image on the photos he had sent me. The photos were stolen from a guy in Oklahoma City, Ok. Also later I found your website and searched the letters. Roland's letters that he sent me on Ourtime.com and emails the next day were all on your website. He had just changed a few of the details. Also when I had mailed the laptop to Accra via fed ex, the package was signed for by T. Mensah, not Roland Weiss.
