He befriended me at WAYN, a travel portal. Since May 2015 we wrote emails and he called me quite frequently. He said he was half Turkish half American and that he lost wife of 25 years to accident. He said he worked as Marine Engineer with an oil exploration company in UK. A few months into the friendship, said he had set up his own company since retirement 5 yrs ago. I began to suspect something was amiss, because he was being inconsistent. So I decided to play along. Said he was coming to Malaysia after getting a contract with Petronas Malaysia to do maintenance of the oil pipeline in South China Sea. To cut the story short, in the end, after patiently making a fraud story believable, he asked me for money to make a payment for his cheque clearance on the day he supposed to collect his payment from Petronas. No I did not give him any.
