I no longer communicate with the scammer, however, I am having a hard time getting over him, its so miserable since I know now who he really is and what he does. Can anyone give me some advise.? Anyone else out there having this kind of problem??

Hi, I am having this kind of problem. I've just discovered that I've been scammed. Nine years ago I lost my partner with whom I was for 23 years. After nine years of being alone, I decided to look for my new partner and ... I found a scammer, I mean, the scammer found me. US soldier serving in Afghanistan. .... I can see that you sent your post in March, so almost two months ago. How are you now? Any better? Now, I need some advice ...

So sorry to hear about your troubles, ladies. I too am divorced and was looking for a new love. Just learn to be confident in yourself & not desperate. The hurt will take a while but it will get better. Take care of yourself. Love will come to you when it is right. Be careful.

I was recently in a 5 month long, long distance relationship with a romance scammer, it started supposedly from his home in California, he actually contacted me through instagram, next 5hing I know I have feelings for him and of course he said he loved me, we talked several times a day, and now that I look back there were several clues and they are really all textbook for scammers, we split several times with him acting as if nothing had happened and I would always question him about things trying to get him to make a mistake, but then he says that he has to do one more job so that he can retire and we can be together, but he is an engineer and has won a contract to refurbish an oil platform and that he would be gone a month and that he would chat with me all that he could while he was gone, so much happened I would have to write a book to tell it all, 1 month turned into 5 and of course he asked for money, 200.00 and he never got paid the whole time, and I would question everything and he would sometimes get mad but, he would always apologize, but through this I fell in love with him, we know about each others families and everything, the last time I got mad I just kept telling him I couldn't do this that it was over and I kept saying I cant believe you done this to me and that he had broke my heart, and that I wish he would tell the truth, and he says ok you want the truth and I said yes, he says there is no daughter there is no grandkids there is no dead wife, he is posing as a 62 year old white man and turns out to be a 29 year old black man from Nigeria, I was floored to say the least, he still is saying that he loves meand thats why he told me, im slowly breaking the connection I have with him but he does not want to accept that, it really is hard even though they have lied, he still begs everyday, I have told him I wasn't in love with you I was in love with the man in the picture, he still won't listen, I have tried the photo searches and nothings comes up with this man's picture, I wish I knew who he was so I could tell him this story that all started with his picture
